Acosta Engineering Professional Services Corporation is a full-service engineering firm that has proven to be a fully competent company in: Architectural-Engineering Design, Construction Management, Construction Inspection, Engineering Consulting, Permitting, Surveying and Topography Mapping in a diversity of project types for both public and private sector.

 

Acosta Engineering PSC has accomplish an outstanding reputation between our clients as a result of our continuous efforts to ensure their projects are delivered with the highest quality standards, based on assertive decision making, broad documentation management; and an excellent multi-disciplinary professional staff. Our engineering team has over thirty years of experience in the construction management and engineering services through all construction phases.

MARCELINO ACOSTA SERRANO


 

Marcelino Acosta Serrano graduated from the University of Puerto Rico , Mayagüez Campus in 1969 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering.  He is a licensed Professional Engineer in The Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, member of the “Colegio de Ingeniero y Agrimensores de Puerto Rico (CIAPR)”, member of Chamber of Commerce of Puerto Rico and member of American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE).

 

Acosta Serrano has over 30 years of practice in the construction industry, mostly with Local Government.  In 1969, he started his work experience as a Construction Inspector for the San Juan Municipality and then continued expanding his engineering knowledge as a Project Manager for the Construction Department of Public Building Authority (PBA) in which he administered the Minilla Government Center Project and several Government Center Construction Projects in different towns, among others.   In 1974, he was appointed as the Maintenance and Operation Department Director for the Humacao Regional Area which consists of 15 towns.  As a result of his outstanding work performance and professionalism in 1985 he was appointed as the Construction Area Director and Board of Award Chairman of Public Building Authority.  As the Construction Area Director, he was responsible of the administration of construction programs that yielded approximately 200 million dollars per year.  Also as the Board of Award Chairman, he was responsible of evaluating the bidding proposals and documents; and present recommendation to the Executive Director of PBA for the award of contract.

 

In 1999, Acosta Serrano retired with 30 years working for the Government but to keep his knowledge current within the construction industry he decided to keep working as an independent contractor through MAS Engineering Services.

 


 

PABLO ACOSTA MELENDEZ


 

Pablo Acosta Meléndez graduated from the University of Puerto Rico , Mayagüez Campus in 1997 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering.  He is a licensed Engineer-in-Training in The Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, member of the “Colegio de Ingeniero y Agrimensores de Puerto Rico (CIAPR)”, member of Chamber of Commerce of Puerto Rico and member of American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE).  Since his formative years, he arised as a leader in the Boy Scouts of America with an exceptional performance receiving the recognition of the Eagle Scout.

 

In 1998, Acosta Meléndez initiated his work experience as a Field Engineer in a Juvenile Jail Renovation Project and later as a Project Inspector in several Government Projects.  In 1999, he was hired by Pavarini Construction as the Project Manager for the multi-million renovation project of Condado Caribe Hilton in San Juan , Puerto Rico .  In 2001, Hilton International Management recognize the value of the work performance, professionalism and the high quality standards that Acosta Meléndez consistently demonstrated in the renovation project and they offered him a position as a Senior Project Manager for Hilton International.

 

However at the end of 2001, Acosta Serrano, his father, presented him a new project which consisted in joining their knowledge and experience to work together in their own engineering business as independent contractors.  Eventually in 2004, they incorporated as Acosta Engineering PSC.

 

Today, Acosta Meléndez and Acosta Serrano are President and Vice President, respectively, of Acosta Engineering PSC.
